Endura-Craft™ Square Tapered

Presenting our Endura-Craft Square Craftsman Columns

Our extensive line of exterior and interior columns includes the Endura-Series™ Square Tapered Column, a crisply detailed column with early 1900's appeal. This column is inspired by Arts and Crafts architecture and millwork. It has proven itself a versatile addition to countless colonial homes, and maintains its appeal today. An elegantly tapered form sets the Endura-Series™ Square Tapered Column apart from others.

The Endura-Series™ Square Tapered Column is crafted in high quality expanded cellular PVC, a very durable material with traditional appeal. The advanced construction of the square tapered column makes it an excellent alternative to a traditional wood column. It resists humidity, warping, cracking and rotting. It is also free of damage caused by termites and carpenter ants. The square tapered column takes paint well with virtually no maintenance required.

Endura-Craft™ Tapered Column Specifications

Craftsman columns are available plain, or with three different paneled options: raised panel, "square corner" raised panel, and recessed panel. (Since all tooling used for routing the panels is done with round bits, there will always be some radius in the cor-ners. The “square corner” style uses the smallest bit possible to minimize that radius - about 1/8”.)

Endura-Craft™ Style Ideas

Mix and match capitals, bases, and shafts to create your own unique craftsman column style. Each column kit can easily be installed around an existing post for a simple installation.

Endura-Craft Plan Types

Endura-Craft Columns are as unique as the different types of installations that are available. We offer our Endura-Craft Columns in a wide variety of "Plan Types". These "Plan Types" are the style and type of shaft, capital, and base you will receive. If you are using them as half columns against a wall, you would want to select an "F" plan type. This would give you a column that could be installed against a wall. These are the most common plan types, however, we can do custom plan types if your project requires it.

Endura-Craft Easy Installation

E-Z Lock Assembly: Vertical edges of Craftsman shafts (tapered, non-tapered, pedestal and newel post styles) all incorporate the E-Z Lock miter joint for consistently straight miters.

Please note the correct assembly of the E-Z Lock joint shown at the left. Nails MUST be installed only in the edges shown (3 and 4). Installing on the other edges may result in open seams.

  1. Glue both joint edges; slide first joint together
  2. Push second joint closed
  3. Nail this joint first
  4. Nail this joint second

Notes
Always use non-corrosive fasteners — galvanized, stainless steel, etc. for exterior installations, and always follow glue and paint manufacturer’s instructions.

*Column must not be allowed to collect water, debris, etc. If the top of the column extends beyond the soffit/beam, the cap must be flashed with lead, copper, aluminum, etc. to prevent entry of water or foreign materials.

About Endura-Craft Column Materials

Made of cellular PVC that resists the tests of time and weather, Endura-Craft Columns are the best high-performance product on the market. Choose from our inspired collection of Endura-Craft Columns to add elegant details in a variety of applications.

PVC is BEAUTIFUL

While Endura-Craft Columns readily accept paints and stains, it comes in a crisp, semi-matte white finish. Its profile is white throughout, and it's protected with UV inhibitors, making it resistant to fading or yellowing over time. And, with sealed edges, they are easier to clean even if it does get dirty.

PVC is WORKABLE

Craft a work of art with materials that are easily milled, shaped, and moulded using standard woodworking tools. Endura-Craft Columns can be routed and cut without chip outs, fastened close to edges without splits, and can easily be trimmed using standard woodworking tools. They're also easy to install—saving you time and labor costs.

PVC is DURABLE

With Endura-Craft Columns, you can feel confident your work will not rot, cup, split, twist or warp. It's moisture and insect resistant, doesn't require paint for protection, and suitable for ground and masonry contact. That promise is backed by a manufacturers 25-year limited warranty.
